Well, I may be uptight, so there's going to be a lot of things possibly to get straightforward with me about. It's my first board, so I'm gonna be strict due to a bad past at prior boards! Here goes!
The first order of business?
Lastly, what I want to say is... Be In-Character, only on the boards or in the live chat on the menu bar... Unless you openly state you like IM rps.
HAVE YOU STUDIED THIS? On the contract, there will be some statements in fine print that's way too small to read, and on top of that, in Latin. To prove it, there will be the small detail of putting in a statement. Don't worry, it can be in English.
The CORRECT reply is... "I accept the right to bear truth's virtues."
The first order of business?
The generic rules!
- No God-Moding. You'll see this anywhere there's a roleplay board; folks.
What does it mean? That means you can't force others to act how YOU would like them to act in your posts.
Bad Example: Kuma, providing support for the team, saw a Shadow group that they had never fought before; a bunch of Calm Peches. Without a second thought, he shouted when asked for support: "Try Wind!!" (Name) called (Persona Name) to use Magaru; knocking them all down.
Now, the RIGHT way: Kuma, providing support for the team, saw a Shadow group that they had never fought before; a bunch of Calm Peches. When asked for his Analysis; he he stated: "I'm not the one to know. Try stuff out and I'm beary certain that you'll win! Heh heh..." He just didn't want to get in their way in the first place. - Ask before Joining/Making a team. Self-explanitory. It's nice to have a great variety of sorts.
- BE CIVIL TO YOUR FELLOW RPERS! Self-explanitory, yet I'll explain it; so anyone here can enjoy a safe, sane, environment!
Why Be Civil? Good question. It avoids you from getting a warning for Out-Of-Character conduct; or Roleplayer Morale Bashing. IF I, OR ANY FUTURE STAFF; FIND OUT... It may be a instant kick from this site I'm running. We do so want a friendly environment for the roleplayers here, even if it's more of a site based from a Mature rated Video Game. - Within the entirety of Persona 4, there are four kinds of beings: Persona-Users, Normal People, Shadow Selves and NPCs.
But what are they? I'm glad you asked! Persona-Users are either Heroes or Villains...or Loners (read: Neutral - no side), I'll explain in another section. Normal People just are like anyone that watches the Midnight Channel, but has yet to be kidnapped or entangled about it. Shadow Selves are the representations of others when they've been kidnapped or lost control of their suppressed emotions while INSIDE the TV. They are basically rulers of their dungeons, or sub-bosses...and exist to prove that they can be understood to awaken their true intent - that they are Personas... NPCs are Non-Player Characters; like anyone that you see walking down the street, be it Mrs. Tatsumi or someome else whom may hold valuable information to a missing person (Imeantonotoffendyourfamily, Kanji-kun). ANYONE can control them, if they are Shadows of a CLEARED area.
NOTE: If you're good enough and can live up to my standards of rules, I may make NPCs available for regular use for those of you with one profile alone... - I do allow loose crossovers; but no exact replicas. You heard me right... I just hope that I don't need to bury this rule later...in red tape. Like the game says, any references to real works is truely coincidental!
THE EXCEPTIONS! If it happens to be another Persona series character, then you must edit them a bit to be a fitting character to Persona 4 standards. And If they have experienced a plot-scripted DEATH in the game of the past; then there's no using them; okay? I'm glad we went through that.
Second Point of business... Where to post and why!!
- Admin: The moving of posts, is to be notified to others, by Messages or IM services...Worst case, email. The deletion of posts, are to be done if everyone in said thread agrees to why the thread is to be deleted... Like, one not made for the game posting in the weather section.
- Drawing Moderators: Do not abuse the skins made. to perfection. Notify the admin, or take a poll! If it passes...then you do not edit it anymore.
- Typo Police: I WILL STRESS THIS UTTERLY. (Note the caps!) DO; edit posts after asking for the terminology or whatever is meant to appeal.
- Weather Reporter: You'll have explicit access to the Inaba Weather Area! I would hope that people posting there would be knowlegable of the game and why. I'm sorry if I offend anyone by that rule.
- Cannons: ...We need these, sorely. ACTIVE ONES, TOO! And I'm the only one so far that is bound and determined to get that way... I will shoot this to the stars: I DO IMPLORE THAT YOU, AS THE TARGET CHARACTER YOU'RE APPLYING FOR; KNOW THAT ONE, AS TO THE BASICS AND SKILLS. I DO NOT WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND.
- Orginial Characters: These here are special. They can pick their own Tarot Arcana and movesets, provided that they aren't perfect in every way! In fact, the more complex, the better. Leon's a prime example of how complex a guy can get. (I know his old profile and he isn't a Gary Stu by any means handily.)
- General rule to avoid thread-jacking: If you're late to the party and want in... Ask in pms so that you can work things out without explosions of tempers.
- General-rule about topic-starting: Put the date in MM/DD format BEFORE the infalliable Topic Name. If there's any confusion; then put which year it is in an OOC bubble. ( The confusion would be on my part. ^^; Sorry? -Sparkle!- )
- Shadows are the ones to put the first post of the dungeon, Starting at Yukiko's Castle. It's like the opening show of the Midnight Channel's good point~.
The third point of business is called early typo squashing!
- There's a spell-check function under reply. Use it well.
- Even then, proof-read! Because even people that use spell-checking functions get it wrong and make HIL-ARI-OUS typos, unless that's how their character is based. (Like my tendancy to get headaches just by thinking!)
- NO ONE'S immune to this rule: USE PROPER GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION, AND SPELLING AND YOU'LL DODGE WARNINGS! Oooh, nothing ruins a good; structured roleplay if you don't use the proper tools called the Shift Key, Spell Check and Prieview buttons!
- For the sake of my sanity... Let staff know straightaway if you're planning on being idle! PM Kuma or Hikitate, since they're both me, just keeping in accordance to the rules~! Of course, this is the rules...you never know if it'll be modified.
Lastly, what I want to say is... Be In-Character, only on the boards or in the live chat on the menu bar... Unless you openly state you like IM rps.
